Burn the Night

Why it is the night that teases me for love

I feel completely abandoned

The silence poisons me

Melody shatters me

Moon, breeze, fragrance exasperate me

And complexities of heart increase

It seems like its in hands of an innocent child

who is holding mud and learning to sculpt

Can I just burn the night, and turn it white

Puffing and drinking doesn’t give me solace

I can’t smoke my mind

and drink my blood

Can I just cut out my heart

and give to ‘the chef’ to roast

He can serve it to them

for whom it matters

At least, I will have a sound sleep

Wouldn’t wait for the day to arrive

Noise to croak lullaby

Much away I will be

from predictable faces I like

and fake voices that I hear

who hail me a hero in return

Can I just burn the night, and turn it white

What an amazing simile and an unfortunate feeling several feel when in love. & The second stanza just adds on to the intensity and passion. A well written poem; great job. 🙂
